Goode shared with us that when he returned to Hackett’s headquarters on London’s Sloane Square, some of the staff he saw were still there, more than a decade after he first worked with the brand. “I felt like I was coming home. I’ve grown up with Hackett sartorially over the years,” he says. “I still have all the suits I’ve had tailored. And the nice thing is, although the silhouettes have changed over the years, they’re never reinventing the wheel. Yes, the fabrics have changed so now it’s easier to travel in a suit. There are even water-repellent ones,” Goode points out, insisting that it is a good investment to go for the bespoke options. “They have the same Savile Row craftsmanship, history, and their suits can end up being half the price of competitors.”
A walk on Scotland’s wild side
The campaign, which can already be seen on billboards and in magazines, was shot in the Glen of the Quair Water area, about three miles southwest of Innerleithen, in the Scottish Borders region. “It’s a beautiful spot, simply God’s country up in Scotland,” Goode says. “I’d never met Jenson before and he turned out to be incredibly funny and kind. To tell you the truth, I was slightly daunted, we’re talking about a world champion, extraordinarily recognizable, and I was thinking ‘God, he’s probably not even going to know who I am.’ Which is fine. But yeah, he’s really fun. Far too good-looking for my liking, but there we go. He’s a really, really down to earth great bloke.”
