The Best Points and Miles Travel Deals in January 2024

If you stay three nights at any Best Western family hotel in the US, Canada, or the Caribbean between now and February 4, you will receive a $100 gift card. Registration is required to be eligible. The Best Western Rewards family of brands includes many high-end hotels like the Sanctuary Hotel in Times Square in New York City and the Hotel de la Paix in Reims, France.

It’s not too late for elite status

If you’re an American AAdvantage member, hopes for status in 2024 is not lost just yet since the airline bucks the trend of only counting activity during the calendar year. Instead, AAdvantage members can continue earning Loyalty Points toward elite status for this year through February 29, 2024. Members earn elite-qualifying points by flying with American or a Oneworld partner between now and the end of February.

You can also earn points by shopping through AAdvantage eShopping, Simply Miles (a program for members that have an AAdvantage-affiliated credit card), booking hotels through AAdvantage, and spending on any AAdvantage credit card. Elite status comes with priority check-in and boarding, baggage and other fee waivers, complimentary upgrades, bonus miles, and other perks that could make the extra spending in the next two months worth it.

There are other status promotions out there, too. A new partnership between Marriott Bonvoy and Singapore Airlines allows Bonvoy members at Marriott Gold Elite status and higher to reach a commensurate Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer elite status for a period of 12 months, pending a certain amount of activity. For example, those with Marriott Gold Elite status can receive KrisFlyer Silver status (which is equivalent to Star Alliance Silver across all member airlines and comes with priority perks at the airport) by flying two flights on Singapore Airlines within six months of connecting your Bonvoy and Krisflyer accounts.

For those who have upcoming plans to fly Singapore Airlines (including the longest flight in the world), you might be in luck. To link your Krisflyer and Marriott Bonvoy accounts, visit this site. If you’re already a Singapore KrisFlyer elite member, you can earn Marriott Gold Elite status instead. Register for this limited-time perk here.
